V6 test drive

by Matt Fossey

The kind folks at Austral Volkswagen at Newstead put on a sausage sizzle for members to have a look and test drive the new V6 Amarok. We’d like to give a huge thanks to Trent, Tahla and Simon for taking everyone for a drive and the five lucky door prizes – won by Dutchie, Ron, Des, Josh and I.

We have included a couple of happy snaps and comments from members after they drove the new V6 Highline.

We had another successful day doing the Woondum Way trip as our Christmas Party. The route was the same one we did earlier in the year. Rather than rehashing the words, we thought we’d post a video this time.

Check out our dashcam footage here:

Mount Mee – AGM

by Brooke Fossey

We returned to Mount Mee for the AGM and even got to meet the beautiful four day old Cecilia Pearl. While chewing down on a sausage sizzle, we went through the motions of the presidents report, treasurers report and financial statements, electing the management committee and discussing some procedural rule changes.

After the formalities, half of us sat around for a pleasant afternoon, with the others going for a drive along A-break led by Des.

The committee elected remained largely unchanged:

President: Oli Pearl

Vice President: Mike Gerlach

Treasurer: Matt Fossey

Trip Advisor: Mandy Pearl

Committee Members: Richard Froehlich and Des Winch

Secretary (reluctantly): Brooke Fossey

Over the Anzac weekend, nine members of the club, coming from as far away as Toowoomba and Mackay, camped at the Reef Tourist Park near Agnes Water.   From here we explored coastal and hinterland highlights of the region. Continue reading

I’ve said enough about the incredible Moreton Island in previous write ups so will just let the pictures do the talking.

Sunrises on Moreton are unbelievable, the more unbelievable thing about them is while we have been coming for years and years, we have only just been awake for them in the last year and a half (coincidentally the exact age as our son)
